New VHF Regulations

New VHF Regulations

Dear Sirs,

We herewith would like to inform you about the upcoming VHF Regulation, which you can be found here. Based on this new regulation, in the 1st radio survey that will be performed after 1st of January 2024, all VHFs will have to comply with the appendix 18 of the Radio Regulations, which require 4digit channels to be available on the fixed VHFs onboard. JRC is preparing a technical bulletin for this, but we would like to inform you that, as expected, JHS-32A/B and older VHFs will not be supported. The model JHS-770S/780D will be supported (subject to software version), the JHS-800S is already complying with the appendix 18.

This means that in case the owners intend to keep of their fleet which are equipped with the JHS-32A/B beyond 2024, they should consider replacing the VHF within the next year. This is the schedule below for JRC VHF:

Please do not hesitate to contact us for any further assistance.

Best regards
